We developed the new self-management app for the Caja de Previsión y Seguro Médico de la Provincia de Buenos Aires, strengthening its historical commitment to the “Medical Family.”

Challenges and Goals

The Caja de Médicos needed to migrate its self-management web portal to a high-availability mobile channel. The core objective was to allow thousands of active members and retirees to manage critical processes directly from their smartphones, without a steep learning curve and using their existing credentials.

Frictionless, Unified Experience: Implementation of seamless Single Sign-On (SSO) using existing login credentials (File Number, ID, and Email).

Profile Segmentation: Real-time interface and permission differentiation based on user status (Active Physician vs. Retiree).

Complex Process Management: Digitization of loan applications, contributions, payment plans, and secure PDF certificate downloads.

Real-Time Notifications: Establishment of a direct channel for both automated management system alerts and institutional announcements.

Evolving pension coverage into a modern, secure, and inclusive digital experience.

Tech Solution

Efficient Cross-Platform Development: A single React Native codebase for iOS and Android, optimizing time-to-market.

Integrated Analytics: Implementation of Google Firebase to track key events and user behavior.

Web Services: An intermediary layer developed in Node.js to securely connect the App with the loan management system and the institution’s BackOffice.

Push Notification Engine: Integration with OneSignal to process the setup and dispatch of both automated and manual key notifications.

Successful launch

Immediate Availability: Smooth deployment and instant availability on official app stores (Google Play and Apple App Store).

User autonomy

Reduced Administrative Burden: Substantial reduction in in-person and phone inquiries thanks to the digitization of routine processes.

Direct communication channel

Improved Open Rates: Higher engagement on institutional announcements through targeted, segmented push notifications.

Collection Optimization and Payment Adherence
